The Shoalhaven coastline

Location

Close to Sydney. Connected to the Pacific. Distinctly Shoalhaven.

At 1178 Comerong Island Road, Numbaa, around 70 nautical miles south of Sydney, ECMC sits on Berry's Canal within the Lower Shoalhaven River system.

A strategic position

An east-coast base with water access and room to grow.

Vessels approach from the Tasman Sea through Crookhaven Heads, then follow the Crookhaven River toward Berry's Canal and ECMC's purpose-built access channel. This water route connects the site to the Pacific while keeping the working basin inland from the open coast.

Its scale allows the marina basin, working yards and supporting businesses to develop together rather than compete for fragmented urban waterfront space. The region's long Royal Australian Navy presence through HMAS Albatross and HMAS Creswell also supports a culture of trades, engineering and maritime operations.

The marina's location is part of its service proposition. Easy access to coastal towns, accommodation, recreation and regional services helps make longer maintenance programs more comfortable, while Sydney remains within practical reach.
